The trio represents a major milestone for the North Gwinnett program, highlighting its growth and the dedication of its players.
“Having three athletes commit on the same cycle is huge for our program as we keep the North Gwinnett brand at the forefront,” said Head Coach Jeremy Kohn. “These guys grew up in the NGLA feeder, and we’ve been able to develop players from day one, instilling core values like discipline, hard work, and what it means to be a good teammate. Having three commit this year is growth from last year’s one, and I’m hopeful others will follow in their footsteps.”
Butler, a standout player known for his intensity and competitiveness, has elevated practices and games with his energy. “Dylan contests everything across the field, showing his peers what whistle-to-whistle competitiveness looks like,” Kohn said.

Carter, praised for his fun-loving personality and on-field aggression, balances high expectations with a lighthearted approach. “He makes sure the team is having fun while holding everyone to the high standards pushed by coaches,” Kohn said.
Sweeney, a dominant goalkeeper, is celebrated for his leadership and dedication both on and off the field. “Gage is an absolute beast in goal and the definition of a good teammate,” Kohn said. “He also gives back by coaching middle school players and spreading his passion for the game in our community.”
Sweeney locked in between the pipes — calm, focused, and ready to shut down anything that comes his way.
The program has seen steady growth in recent years, Kohn said, with strong middle school participation and a dedicated core of underclassmen buying into the team’s philosophy. “We are showing good numbers in our middle school ranks, getting our philosophies and terminology in now so they are ready when they join as freshmen,” he said.
Looking ahead, the team hopes to build on the momentum of the off-season. “These young men have embraced the process, remaining focused on each rep,” Kohn said. “We aim to elevate our level of play each time we step on the field and keep that intensity for 48 minutes, taking teams to places they haven’t been before by being the more mentally prepared team.”
